Our Summer Vacation

Our summer adventures began the day after Nathan's graduation ceremony.  We jumped in the car early the next morning and headed east.  My brothers son, Alex, was graduating in 2 days and we had promised we would be there.  We headed north to Flagstaff, then west through New Mexico and Texas.  We planned to stop and sleep in Amarillo, Texas - the halfway point.  We didn't actually arrive until late - around midnight.  By the time we got everyone in the room, in bed and comfortable, it was 1am.  We planned to get up at 5am, so sleep was extremely important.

The next morning, we were up and out the door as early as possible and back on the road.  We traveled through Oklahoma, Arkansas, then across the flooded Mississippi River into Tennessee and finally to Mississippi.  We ran to my brother, Andrew's, house where we hurried and changed our clothes, fixed our hair and ran out the door to get to the graduation.  We literally arrived at the graduation just as the graduates were walking out.  Talk about just in time.

Graduation was great and we were glad we were able to be there to celebrate with Alex and all of the family that still lives in the south.  We then divided up.  Nathan stayed with Alex; Rachel and Marshel stayed at Bobbie and Greg's; Kellee and I went to April and Leah's.  April and I stayed up late talking and catching up before crashing for the first good night's sleep in 48 hours.

The next day, everyone came to April and Leah's house.  We had pizza and swam all day.  The kids didn't ever want to get out of the water.  They loved hanging out all day with their cousins.

AND THE VACATION BEGINS!!!!!
